Motorcycle Starts But Dies Immediately
Swap out the pilot jet install a new clean air filter change the oil and oil filter if there is one and see if it will start.
Motorcycle starts but dies immediately. It will start back up again but the same things happens. Went to go for a ride today but after starting up normally the bike died a few seconds later. 41 - 60 of 64 Posts.
Dead cell sulphated etc. Today it died midway through the trip and wouldnt start for the return trip. If your bike continues to die after running on the starting fluid you should try to troubleshoot elsewhere.
Holding the starter button down and cranking will do nothing but flood the bike out. These are a lot of fuel issues that can happen INSIDE the tank. After cycling the ignition and power the result is the same.
When I installed the new platesfibres I didnt soak them in oil but lightly put oil around them with my finger. Sounds like its retaining enough charge to start the bike once and is not able to charge fast enough from the bikes charging system to do a second start. When I drop the clutch it turns over but dies out after a few seconds and if I disengage the clutch it dies immediately.
When I first bought it I ran 93 E10. I would check the choke and also look at your vacuum lines. Try putting your hand over the air filter inlet and see what happens.
Once it dies it will not restart right away unless I open the throttle quite a bit. Hold the diaphram up to a very bright light and look carefully. The bike will start but then after a second or two it simply dies.
