Motorcycle Clutch Not Disengaging
This is how I fixed it.
Motorcycle clutch not disengaging. The clutch disengages badly because the clutch disk jams instead of sliding on the input shaft. Obviously the clutch is not fully disengaging. Just purchased a 2002 Vulcan Mean Streak 1500.
Something to check at least. Had a sticky clutch on my yamaha yz250. I will also go over clutch slippage.
Runs real good but has a strange whine when the clutch is engaged and decelerating. If this is the case you can gently file down the sharp edges with a fine fine or find a better condition clutch basket if youre into that. I tried the adjustment screw near the lever as well as following the service manual with no luck.
Clutch not disengaging. To tell if your motorcycle clutch is bad youll need to look for signs such as unexplained high revs and lowered gas mileage. As if the clutch is still engaged.
Not the usual tiny lurch we all get but an actual surge as in the bike wants to keep moving. If you have not inspected it you may want to pop the clutch cover and see what you get for movement if the seafoam does not work. Main issue is after about 50 miles or so of freeway speeds the clutch wont disengage.
Just messy and tedious as most things done right with motorcycles. If the clutch cannot disengage its too loose and the clutch always has some friction even when fully pulled. Clutch not disengaging on 95 Honda VFR750.
