Shinko Motorcycle Tires Review
For street riding slightly aggressive they are quite good.
Shinko motorcycle tires review. Great tire mileage versus money toss up. I wouldnt rate em as track or soft tires but very good for most peoples daily riding. 40 out of 5 stars.
Established in 1946 the Shinko Group began as a manufacturer of bicycle tyres and tubes in Osaka Japan that today has become a burgeoning manufacture of rubber products. I run them at 3438 psi cold and they have plenty of predictable grip on dirt or tarmac. They have been shown to last a long time too.
Shinko is a good tire company -- not Chinese junk. The 705 is an 8020 streetoff-road tire with a blocky tread made of a tear-resistant rubber compound which does a great job handling any light off-road riding terrain very well except for mud while retaining excellent street manners and. The quality of the tire is outstanding considering the low price.
In both cases there is a lot of tread depth left and I expect the rear will be a 10000km tyre. Shinkos 705 Series adventure-touring tires might be your ideal travel partners. The street reputation of the Tour Master and most Shinko tires is of a soft compound that provides stickiness but adversely affects tire longevity.
Shinko motorcycle tires had a crummy reputation in the 1990s and early 2000s. The Shinko 705 tyres continue to impress after 6000km. I am pretty hard on the bike and this tire has held up well.
Still tire tread left. Cant beat the cost. The front has lost 1mm of tread in the centre and the rear has worn away 4mm.
