Motorcycle Throttle Not Snapping Back
I thought that it would be okay to ride without the throttle snapping shut however even when the bike is running and I close the throttle it takes maybe around 5 seconds for the revs to even begin coming back down.
Motorcycle throttle not snapping back. I removed everything again and double checked and it doesnt seem to be caught on anything. They can get rusty dirty and all kinds of build up in there. I needed to clean out the carb and replace some stuff got a new cable yes I lubed it up and a new throttle sleeve and grips.
Youd have to use some serious force to screw up the throttle from the grip end. But I would check the the throttle return spring first make sure the spring isnt the problem. DO NOT continue until the throttle snaps back quickly on its own once released.
When I rebuilt the carb I didnt remove the butterfly valve or spring but did remove the clip on the other side to clean. I checked if the throttle cable gets caught on something when the bars are turned but its not. Have you had a tipoverwreck recently.
Fourth if it still sticks you will need to pull the carbs and clean them thoroughly inside. I thought that it would be okay to ride without the throttle snapping shut however even when the bike is running and I close the throttle it takes maybe around 5 seconds for the revs to even begin coming back down. Once this adjustment is complete twist the throttle and let go several times.
If it snaps back into place it is the cable not the carbs. Snug the throttle cable lock nut. Third disconnect the cable from the carbs and move the throttle linkage itself.
Not sure what to do. Turn the bars all the way to the left. Is the throttle not snapping back at allor just not as quick as normal.
