Motorcycle Starts Then Dies
I bought my first motorcycle about 2 weeks ago and was having a blast until last week.
Motorcycle starts then dies. Discussion Starter 1 Jul 30 2006. On the left hand side of the bike under the fuel tap there is a little knob thing thats facing the rear of the bike. Cleaner into the carbs at all they restart ok then dies right away and then.
Jump to Latest Follow 1 - 20 of 31 Posts. A lot of things going on here which leads to a lot of areas for issues. If your battery is completely dead you motorcycle will not make any noise at all when you try to start it.
Have you had issues with idling before. 2003 Suzuki hayabusa 1300. Bike will start fine then after warming up usually 3-5 minutes or so it starts to drop in idle speed and will eventually die.
Get the battery tested as it seems its not holding a charge for a long time get it load tested and or borrow a battery and see if it resolves the issue you can of course use jumper cables from your car to your bike and try that car is NOT running and have your bike. Enrichment would keep the engine they re under the carb so your carb is probably fine up. Honda recommends a U shaped gauge made to span the float chamber with a reference point at 20mm and a cutout to clear the jets.
I stsrted the bike and was letting it warm up. Do you know the approximate mileage. I have started it while giving it fuel.
You can hear it just fine then crank and it starts then almost immediately starts poping and sounds like one cylinder is hitting. If a motorcycle battery is not used and just sits it will lose its capacity to power your motorcycle.
