Motorcycle Starter Fluid
You can use starting fluid but you need to be very careful and NOT use too much.
Motorcycle starter fluid. Once the bike fires on the starting fluid it will usually help draw the gas through the fuel system. Please see CAUTION at I. I raised tank blocked with 2x4 and removed both fuel enrichment valves.
I cleaned both with carb cleaner oiled springs plunger and lower inch or so of cable cleaned out the pockets on carb where they fit re installed and works like a charm. If it starts and revs up for a few seconds then that means your have a dirty carburetor. Its either going to be a regular block fuse or an inline fuse depending on the bike.
By the time you put the airbox and tank back on it will have evaporated off. Starting on starting fluid but not running is a definite sign of fuel system problems. Deposits and dirt can build up in your fuel system.
Starter fluid evaporates very quickly. If an engine fails to start repeatedly it may require a starting aid like Bradex Easy Start. With bad gas the problem would repeat when the bike is.
Ensure you have put in place the air-filter or the spark plug before you attempt to start. It is designed for use in an emergency where the engine wont start which could be caused by a number of different ignition problems. The purpose of starter fluid which is eyther is to provide a more volatile substance that lights more easily than gasoline.
Then raise your tank but instead of shooting starter fluid first just try gasoline. If you take it out then I would test it like you mentioned. Spray it into the carb intake before you start your bike.
