Motorcycle Helmet Buffeting

Wind buffeting is not the same as resistance.

Motorcycle helmet buffeting. I have a WeeStrom which is one of the worst offenders for buffeting. Another guy here mentioned that after installing a set of lowers the buffeting went down even more as some air was coming up from under the windshield and up into his face causing some buffeting. Usually buffeting is caused by wind coming up your chest and hitting the bottom of your helmet.

The smaller one works OK. When the helmet buffets so does the eyeglasses. Removing the visor may help a little but make sure your helmet fits snugly.

The outer shell was about the size of a Jack in the Box drive-through mannequin. Fortunately you do have some options to make your ride. Buffeting is a special extremely unpleasant kind of turbulence.

Airflow getting under your lid will cause movement from buffeting. Buffeting from wind can affect every rider. I use a full face helmet and with the visor open I get a bit of buffeting but with the visor closed it is very smooth.
