Disconnecting Motorcycle Battery
The tender wont overcharge the battery so you can plug it in every night or leave in on all winter if you want.
Disconnecting motorcycle battery. It should be reading somewhere between 13-14 volts. Remove the positive terminal cable from the battery using your pliers or wrench. Some batteries have hollow terminals with lead nuts which can fall out.
I have set up a geofence to cover my garage and garden etc but can anyone advise if this will prevent the alert. When a Battery is disconnected from a running engine there is a milliseconds high voltage spike that occurs the instant the terminal leaves the battery connector. If not it is likely the charging system that is failing.
AGM batteries may have slightly higher voltage readings after a full charge. Battery tender has a plug in the line already to do this. Thanks for chipping in here Matty589 it was exactly what I was hoping for first hand experience.
Test the battery fully charged with the motorcycle off. No problem to disconnect the battery on any bike IMHO. I have seen batteries come off the shelf at radio shack and be dead this is because they sit so long.
Replace the battery in both fobs set it near the bike and it automatically starts to work. In most cases bolts that fall out are impossible to locate later so youll need new ones to replace them. Buy a battery tender run the wires under your seat to the rear compartment so you just pop off the cover and plug it in.
This avoids any nearby components being damaged during the charging process. First things first your vehicle should be off. The same way as you disconnect any battery.
